Off to the pool!

Our first trip to Grant Park Pool was a complete bust. Mary Kathryn, Harrison, Nancy, Becca and Simone set out with high hopes. These were soon dashed by a strange color in the water of the main pool, a mess of rowdy kids (one of whom tried to get me to hand Simone to her in the pool) and finally, a thunderstorm. We hightailed it home and will try again on another day. Still, we got some cute photos. Here is Simone checking out the scene in her "wee-kini" from Aunt Jess and Uncle Robb.

Now that she is eating (a little) solid food, Simone has started drinking water. Here she is with her very first glass of water. No, she doesn't love it just yet.

Literary

Simone shows a lot of interest in books. Here she is reading with Becca late at night when she really should have been sleeping instead. She loves to go to the bookstore and particularly enjoys chewing on Harry the Dirty Dog! On another note, we seem to be having difficulty with the "Comments" section of the blog. The next ten people who post a comment will receive a bonus photo of Simone in an email. Bring 'em on!

Goodbye Friends

Simone said goodbye to her friends in Mommy's primary class recently. She sure had fun with all those big brothers and sisters around!

Lazy days of summer

Summer is here and Simone has already started celebrating by relaxing around the house. She is busy practicing rolling over and over across the floor, scooting backwards and trying to get her toys out of their basket by knocking it over.

First rice cereal!

Simone showed us she was ready for solid food by actually gnawing on a plate at dinner recently! Here she is enjoying her first taste of rice cereal. Yes, Linda. It was organic!
