Simone's big day with the Judge
Well, it's official, Simone is now legally a Fernandez. Today at 9:00 A.M. Becca, Simone and I (along with Wes, MaryKathryn and Harrison) walked into Judge Mannis' chambers and I legally became Simone's second parent. Simone was silent throughout the hearing, except for a piercing wail when Judge Mannis suggested we should force her to move out by the age of 28! Becca and I were moved to tears several times as the emotions of the day overwhelmed us. We are so grateful that we were able to have Simone legally adopted and our family made more secure. Not all families are so lucky. Pay attention to your legislators and do your part to ensure that other children are able to enjoy the same legal security that Simone does.

Congratulations to the three of you. When we enlarged the pictures as we always do - I could see tears of happiness and joy.
Simone is one fortunate and extremely loved little baby.
It was so nice to see that Wes, Mary Katherine and Harrison could go with you. It made it additionally exciting. Harrison is such a cutie. He finally got to meet Simone in person!
We are so happy to share in this big day. We love you.
Congratulations to you all! What a beautiful family you are. Becca and Nancy have the stunning daughter they deserve, Simone has wonderful parents and you all have the love and support of a LONG list of family and friends.
Mama, Mommy & Baby Simone...
She's perfect! What a beautiful family! Big congratulations on your "big day"!
We missed you all at Christmas for the big shindig at the Patton compound... but we talked about you often and sent lots of good thoughts your way. We can't wait to meet that little girl. However, Simone shouldn't look to Owen for advice on sleeping... it took him almost two years to get it figured out!
Baby #2 is coming in six weeks and Michelle is hanging in there... albeit extremely tired and uncomfortable. Tonight the baby was pushing and kicking so hard that you could see (even from a distance) an elbow or a fist or some appendage shoving at her belly!
Owen kisses the "baby in the belly" often and we're doing our best to prepare him for the new arrival. He's talking up a storm and running around like a crazy man these days.
Anyway, thanks for posting the pictures! We've updated our site with lots of stuff, with much more to come in the next few weeks, I'm sure.
We love and miss you all-- give that girl a squeeze for us!
All the best from snowy NH,
Scot (and Michelle, Owen & Baby-to-Be)
Congratulations to all of you. Jen and Brian hope to be travelling to Guatemala in late February/early March to add Kalynn to their family. Seems like we're all spending a lot of time in front of judges.
Congratulations! We are so happy for the three of you....Of course, I am moved to tears as well. What an event! Glad you had close friends along to share the joy with you. Can't wait to see you in a few weeks!
